Troops of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Cundinamarca of the Thirteen Brigade of the National Army in a joint and interagency work with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, dismantle a gang who perpetrate the illegal manufacture and marketing of chemicals used in agricultural work, during the operation were arrested 10 people in the departments of Santander, Huila and Tolima.
According to the investigations carried out by the authorities, it was established that this organization had as a modus operandi, the elaboration, distribution, supply and commercialization of agrochemical products (herbicides, fungicides and insecticides), adulterated; for this purpose they elaborated the containers, labels and security systems, to cover these criminal actions.
Some of those arrested were registered in the Chamber of Commerce or as companies legally constituted committed to the marketing of agricultural products, and by shipment by courier companies, buses, inter-municipal or vehicles that did not comply with the legal provisions, sent agrochemicals, once adulterated to the people, farmers and/or warehouses farm who bought these products.
It is noteworthy that the 10 people arrested did not comply with the regulations issued by the national authority, nor did they have authorization to produce, distribute, supply or commercialize agrochemical products.
