It is an Inter-institution work in favor of vulnerable families, in Neiva, to mitigate the negative impact of preventive isolation.
Soldiers of the Ninth Brigade Combat and Support Battalion No. 9 in an inter-institutional operation with the Diocesan Food Bank, supported peasants with the collection of two tons of papaya on the La Esperanza farm, in the municipality El Juncal, in the municipality of Palermo, in the department of Huila.
This idea is given as a result of the Reagro program of the Diocesan Food Bank. In the frame of the program the farmers donate agricultural products in exchange for a small food basket. Later, these elements are used to the maximum to benefit other families with limited economic resources.
This operation has managed to provide food support to different families in Neiva, Huila, where they have in the same way been harmed by the measures that have been taken in the country to control the spread of covid-19.
It is a valuable task that is carried out in order to provide well-being to vulnerable people in this time of pandemic and to help these people so that they do not suffer lack food on their table during these difficult times.
