Roses, chocolates and, what could not be missing, a beautiful serenade, came from the hands of the soldiers who, during these days of quarantine, have walked those same streets loaded with food aid for low-income families. The vulnerable sectors of the city of Popayán are being attended by the soldiers of the Awareness Squad of the Battalion of Support and Services for Combat No. 29 of the Twenty-ninth Brigade.
Our soldiers from very early in the morning prepared their best uniform to celebrate Mother's Day which becomes an honor for any soldier in Colombia. The idea was to bring a surprise to low-income mothers, and make their day a beautiful memory despite the circumstances of the current mandatory confinement.
Saturday and Sunday were the chosen days to celebrate Mother's Day in the different sectors of the White City, institutions such as Comfacauca, the Municipal Secretary of Traffic and Transport and the Archdiocese joined this celebration that was an event for hundreds of women, those who received with their best smile, the military who gave them not only a flower and some chocolates, but a message of thanks for their labor and unconditional love.
The command of the Support and Services Battalion No.29 took advantage of the celebration of this special date, to ratify the message about the need to continue following the mandatory isolation measure and biosafety regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
