With these 12 captures, the National Army is striking a blow to the common and organized crime that commits crimes in the Department.
Through the territorial control Operation Nemesis, carried out by the Mechanized Infantry Battalion no.5 General Jos茅 Mar铆a C贸rdova of the Second Brigade of the National Army, jointly with the Air Combat Command No.3 of the Colombian Air Force and in coordination with the SIJIN (judicial police) of the Magdalena National sectional Police, 12 captures were carried out simultaneously in the Magdalena Department.
According to the authorities, the individuals would be part of the Organized Crime Group, GDO, Los leopardos, an organization at the service of the Diomedes Dionisio Ortega Ramos Structure, belonging to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, and were required by means of judicial procedure ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office No.22 of Chibolo, Magdalena.
Thanks to the intelligence work conducted by the Mechanized Infantry Battalion No.5, in coordination with the Sijin (Judicial Police) of the National Police, attached to the Department of Magdalena, the alleged offenders were found in the municipalities of Zapay谩n, Pedraza, Concordia and the municipality of Carreto, in the Department of Magdalena, which resulted in the 12 captures of these individuals who committed crimes in Magdalena.
The individuals are alias Luis, 34 years of age, alias Pardo, 33; alias Diego, 40; alias Peluca, 24; alias Dayan, 29; alias Vegueta, 33s; alias Mello, 27; alias Leo, 35, who would be the ringleader of the organization; alias Pantera, 36; alias Chana, 21; and two other individuals, 29 and 24. Ten of them were requested by the prosecutor's office under a court order and two of them were caught in flagrance at the time of the operation.
In addition to the captures, four firearms were found: a 7.65 mm pistol and two 16.01 mm shotguns, a hand-made weapon; a traumatic pistol-type weapon with an ammunition box; three 38 mm cartridges, seven 16 mm calibre cartridges; military camouflage-type clothing and assault bags; and nine cell phones.
The individuals and the materials were brought to the Police station of the municipality of Zapay谩n to be put into custody of the Sijin (Police) Magdalena, and thus conduct the relevant operations in front of the Prosecutor's office 11 of Chibolo for the offences of association for committing crimes, aggravated and of aggravated theft and qualified.
Operations such as these take on great importance because these criminal groups have committed countless criminal acts that have harmed the free locomotion of the civilians, the trade of the region, the guild of farmers, transporters and even schools of the area through theft and extortion carried out under the modus operandi of impersonation of other groups, and even the same Military Forces of the country, with uniforms and firearms of exclusive use, thus they frighten the inhabitants of the municipalities in which they had interference.
