Among those captured is alias Zarco, who would have been one of the ringleaders of the criminal organization Los Rastrojos in rural areas of the municipality of Agua Clara.
In a coordinated work conducted by troops of the National Army and the Metropolitan Police of C煤cuta, it was possible to capture the three individuals apparently members of the Organized Crime Group (GDO) Los Rastrojos in a military operation that was carried out in rural areas of the municipality of Agua Clara, Norte de Santander.
According to information from the authorities, among the detainees was one of the leaders known as Zarco, a 26-year-old man, who would be carrying out criminal activities, such as the execution of selective homicides, collection of money from extortions to the cattle ranchers' union, rice growers and commanders, and crimes under orders of alias Arc谩ngel, commander of the area, and alias Mello, financial chief of the organization.
This operation was carried out in the village of Restauraci贸n, as part of military and police campaign Esparta, in coordination with Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police and troops of the Thirtieth Brigade of the National Army.
In the same way, a woman known as La Bandida, of Venezuelan nationality, who would be a member of the squad under Zarco's command, was captured. She would have been in charge of collecting money from extortions to different guilds in the villages of Restauraci贸n and C谩mbulos. With this operation was also captured the head of logistics and money collection from extortions of the criminal organization.
During the operation, troops found one M4 rifle, 3 pistol-type firearms, 2,000 5.56 mm cartridges, 8 pistol magazines, 16 M4 rifle magazines, 3 IM 26 grenades, 5 mobile cellular equipment, 4 rifle powder containers and a harness vest.
It was possible to establish that this organization commits crimes in the municipalities of Buena Esperanza and San Agust铆n de los Pozos, where they generated forced displacement, drug and fuel trafficking, collection of money from extortion and illegal controls in the informal crossings (trochas) that link Colombia with Venezuela.
