Troops of the National Army, in military operations conducted in the regions of Urabá and Bajo Cauca, in the department of Antioquia, captured three members of organized armed groups; two of the Eln and one of the 'Clan del Golfo'.
It is about the capture of an important ringleader of the GAO “Clan del Golfo” who committed crimes in the department of Norte de Santander, who was wanted by an arrest warrant in force through an Interpol Bleu notice; he was sought by the authorities of several countries. His arrest occurred in the village La Esperanza rural area of the municipality of El Tres de Turbo. The military arrived in the place thanks to timely and accurate information provided by the Civic Participation Network, which reported the presence in the area of this individual.
The individual known by the alias 'David' or 'El Negro', 31, was sentenced for crimes such as manufacture, carrying and trafficking of firearms, conspiracy to commit a crime, extortion and violence against a public servant. As it could be established, he would have incurred in the crime of prisoner escape, since at present he had the benefit of house arrest in Cimitarra, in the department of Santander.
This individual had with him a firearm, ammunition, communications equipment and other elements that are verified by military intelligence analysts. He was put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office of Turbo, as well as the material found for the respective judicial process.
With these results, the operation effectiveness of the National Army is confirmed, thanks to the military operations deployed continuously in the department of Antioquia. This operation has led to hit systematically and decisively the logistical, financial and criminal networks of the different groups who commit crimes in the region.
