These individuals would belong to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo substructure Carlos Vásquez. Among those captured would be the ringleader alias Fabián and alias Carrillo, accused of attacking units of the Security forces, in April 2019.
In a military and police operation, with the support of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation and in response to early warning No. 053 of 2018, eight individuals, apparently members of the Clan del Golfo, were arrested, accused of conspiracy to commit aggravated crime and homicide. The captures were made in Bejuquillo, Pavarandó, Chontadural and Chontaduralito, in the rural area of Mutatá, in Antioquia.
Thanks to the information provided by the Civic Participation Network, the troops of the National Army captured these individuals, including alias Ferney, noted so called political ringleader of the Carlos Vázquez substructure, of the Clan del Golfo, with more than 13 years in the criminal organization; alias Chamorro, urban ringleader in the municipality of Bejuquillo; alias Fabián and alias Carrillo, accused of the attack against members of the Police, on April 14 of last year, on the road that leads from Mutatá to Pavarandó, where several people were injured.
In the same way, alias David, alias Tania and alias Mono, were captured. They would be in charge of reporting the movements of the Security forces in this area of Urabá, in Antioquia. During the operation, these individuals had in their possession communications equipment and material of interest to military intelligence.
The individuals were put into custody of the authorities.
Operations are constantly conducted in the area with the aim of continuing to harm logistical and armed structures that commit crimes in the region and thus guarantee the safety and well-being of the inhabitants of the Urabá region in Antioquia.
