The properties found in the rural area of the Lower West of Caldas, would be valued at more than $3,000 million pesos.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan and in an inter-institutional operation, with the Attorney General's Office, in the village La Primavera of the municipality of San José, department of Caldas, a raid was carried out for the expropriation to three properties costing $3,000 billion pesos, which would belong to alias Macaco, former head of the Bolivar Central Bloc of the former AUC.
The individual Carlos Mario Jiménez Naranjo, alias Macaco, ringleader of the Bolivar Central Bloc of the former AUC, had as a crimes zone the departments of Bolivar, Santander, Norte de Santander, Boyacá, Antioquia, Risaralda, Caldas, Nariño, Putumayo, Caquetá, Meta, Vichada and Huila, the Unit for Victims established that, during the years 1997 and 2006, time of operations, there were 31,364 Victims in the territories where he was.
Alias Macaco is being prosecuted by the judicial authorities within the framework of the Justice and Peace Law, in the same way the property recovery unit has a report of figureheads, thus being the object of measures to extinguish the right of ownership, which will is intended to compensate the victims of the armed conflict and diminish criminal finances.
This operation was carried out thanks to investigative activities, information analysis, identification of people, among other procedures that seek to hit the assets obtained with money allegedly from drug trafficking and other illicit activities. The assets were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
