Troops of the National Army, in an interinstitutional work with the Attorney General's office, in the Operation Juan Jos茅 Rond贸n, in the municipality of Puerto Gait谩n, Meta, find approximately 453 kilograms of marijuana Crippy, apparently belonging to the organized gang Los Puntilleros.
The operation took place in Puente Arimena village, when men of the Infantry Battalion No. 20, of the seventh Brigade, and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the prosecutor's office, moved to the site, and through the work of raiding a house, found 10 sacks with 192 packages, covered with tape and polyethylene, vacuum packed. The substance by its color, smell and texture, and according to the samples collected, turned out to be cannabis and derivatives.
This result directly damages the finances of the organized gang Los Puntilleros Del Vichada in more than 1500 million pesos, which decreases its criminal activity in the region.
This substance, according to military intelligence, comes from the Department of Cauca and would be destined for trade in countries such as Venezuela, French Guyana and the United States, being transported by alleged members of the drug trafficking at the service of GDO (Criminal gang).
"This result comes within the framework of the frontal struggle that is being conducted by the army troops against drug trafficking networks, which take advantage of the pandemic to continue financing the residual organized armed groups and common crime groups damaging the health of those who consume drugs," said brigadier General Omar Esteban Sep煤lveda Carvajal, commander in charge of the Fourth Division; he in the same way emphasized that more and more military operations are being carried out to continue to counter this crime of illicit activities resulting from drug trafficking.
The substance was put into custody of the authorities. There were no captures.
