In 35 raids in four cities of the country troops found thousands of doses of cocaine, Bazuco (crack) cigarettes and marijuana, cash, military accessories of the National Army and hundreds of bottles of adulterated liquor ready to be marketed.
Troops of the Thirteenth Brigade, with support of the Fourth, Sixth and Eighth Brigades of the National Army, in a joint operation with the Directorate of the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office, the Cundinamarca sectional Directorate and the Sijin (Judicial Police) of the National Police, impacted the Organized Crime Group (GDO) La Empresa, dedicated to the trafficking of narcotics, homicides, enforced disappearance and other illegal activities in four zones in Bogotá: Rafael Uribe, Usme, Chapinero and Mártires; as well as in municipalities surrounding the capital.
The First Specialized Prosecutor delegated to the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) ordered 35 raids in which it was possible 25 captures. The operation took place in Bogotá, Lebanon (Tolima), Marquetalia (Caldas) and Medellín (Antioquia). Two firearms, military accessories of the National Army, thousands of doses of narcotics and cash were found by troops in the detainees' dormitories, lodgings and rooms which were used as cellars. Hundreds of bottles of adulterated liquor were also found ready to be marketed. The liquor had fake seals, rings and labels that gave the appearance of legality to the product.
Before judges will be presented, in the next hours, the 25 captured for the hearings and imputation due to the alleged crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotic drugs, aggravated homicide and enforced disappearance. In addition, the different people arrested in flagrante will be charged with illegal carrying of firearms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and illegal use of uniforms and insignia.
