Apparently one of the men belonged to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Tenth Structure.
Thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the National Army and the National Police, two individuals in the municipality of Saravena, Arauca, identified by the authorities as belonging to criminal groups, were arrested.
Thanks to the reaction of the military units, which reached the urban area of the municipality of Saravena, they found two handguns, two magazines, seven cartridges, three mobile devices and a van-type vehicle with level two armor, in which the two individuals were traveling. Those arrested along with the material found were given to the authorities, to continue with their prosecution process.
Thanks to the intelligence work prior to the development of the military operation, apparently one of the men had criminal records in common organized crime, and was in the process of being recruited by the members of the GAO-r-Estructura 10, to be in charge of the forced recruitment of minors and new members for this crime group.
With this result, forced recruitment is prevented, as well as the reorganization of the armed structure that aim to strengthen criminal acts in the department and the recommendations issued by the Ombudsman in the framework of risk report 029/2019 are obeyed.
