Within the framework of a coordinated operation conducted by units of the Colombian Navy, the National Police, the National Police Intervention Unit and the Attorney General's Office, an individual, alleged member of the Organized Gang La Local, was arrested in the Special District of Buenaventura.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy, personnel of the National Police and the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) arrived at locality 12 of the Special District, who arrested alias Chino, an alleged member of the Los Shottas, faction of the Organized Gang La Local, who was wanted by a judicial order, issued by the Third Municipal Criminal Court of Buenaventura, for the crime of extortion in the Special District.
With this arrest, the structure and finances of the Organized Gang La Local, the main criminal actor in the special district of Buenaventura, are directly hit.
The arrested individual was put into custody of the authorities for his prosecution.
