In the municipality of Juradó - department of Chocó, an alleged member of the Organized Armed Group ELN, voluntarily surrendered to the troops of the Colombian Navy that carry out permanent work in the region.
The troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.23, in this municipality, received the 37-year-old man, who said he had belonged to the Cimarron Front of the Organized Armed Group ELN for four months, and he handed over to the authorities a rifle, two magazines, 334 cartridges of different calibers and two identification bracelets of this outlaw group.
Immediately, the military personnel established communication with the Attorney General's Office, the Ombudsman's Office and the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized, in order to initiate the respective process and return to civilian life.
