In the constant operation carried out by the Joint Task Force Titan in this department, in order to contribute to the safety of the inhabitants and assisting the recommendations issued by the Ombudsman's Office, in the early warning No.041 of 2019 of the Alto Baudó, it was possible to hit the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
Soldiers of this military unit, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work with the Air Force and the National Navy, after sustaining combats against this GAO, a member of the Baudó Substructure was died in military operations.
The operation was reported in the sector known as Divisa Nauca, in the municipality of Alto Baudó, after intelligence work that led to the finding of several members of the criminal structure, who upon realizing the work of the troops opened fire on the military units.
In the same operation, troops report the finding of rifles, ammunition, cartridges of different calibers, military accessories material for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, communications radios and material useful for military intelligence.
In the same way, during the year more than 50 small firearms, 56 long firearms, more than 13,000 cartridges of different calibers, 7 laboratories of coca paste base, approximately 300 kilograms of solid supplies, 30 communications radios, 12 mining production units equivalent to more than 12,000 million pesos have been found, and 26 people have in the same way surrendered justice and 18 members of this illegal armed group have been arrested.
This result represents the destabilization of the GAO Clan del Golfo and its ability to carry out terrorist operations against the civilians, the Military Forces and the strategic resources of the nation.
