In a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, alias Rafa, alleged ringleader of the Luis Alfonso Echavarría substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, was arrested in the department of Córdoba.
Through search and area control operations, troops of Navy Infantry Battalion No.14, guided by naval intelligence information, reported the finding of alias Rafa, in a house on the Cerro de la Hueca in the village of La Doctrina, a rural area of the municipality of Lorica.
The arrest was made in compliance with a search warrant issued against him by the Lorica Prosecutor's Office, for the alleged crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes.
This guy was the head of finance and allegedly would be in charge of extortion activities, in the village The Doctrine, where he would be directing hitmen and extortion activities.
Alias Rafa who is part of the list of the most wanted of the Magdalena Medio Police Department, for whom they offered 50 million pesos, he in addition, was part of this gang for approximately 10 years carrying out criminal activities and was an alleged military ringleader outlaw in the municipality of San Pablo – Bolívar.
The arrested man was put into custody of the Second Court of Simití -Bolívar.
