This individual would be one of the men who commit crimes in front of the Mayor's Office of Tibú, identifying himself as a member of the GAO-r E 33, in the year 2022.
Within the framework of unified ground operations, soldiers of Colombian National Army with the Aerospace Force, the Police and the Attorney General's Office, arrested the individual known by the alias James or el Loco, alleged ringleader of the Network of Support to Residual Structures of the GAO-r Structure 33, in the village Versalles, municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander.
For more than a year, the military intelligence had been following him, after learning about some videos where armed individuals claimed to belong to the GAO-r E33 and were at government institutions and in different streets of the municipality.
After finding the area where this ringleader would be, and complying with an arrest order, the soldiers arrived at the point, and in strict adherence to respect for human rights, they apprehended this individual, who was accompanied by of a woman, who according to the information would be his girl partner. An abundance of war material was found at the site.
It is known that this individual apparently participated in the murder of Mr. José Antonio Santiago Pérez, president of the communal action board of the Village of Socaró, in February 2022. Alias James or El Loco would have entered this Structure in 2018, gaining the trust of its ringleaders; in 2022, he would have assumed his fist position in the armed group of the GAO-r E33, and in 2023 as the second ringleader.
This individual would in the same way be implicated in the incineration of vehicles of the company Cootranstasajero, in Cúcuta, during the month of February, March, April and May of 2022, in order to generate terror and threaten the community. At the time of the arrest, the individual had in his possession 4 rifles, 2 pistols, 23 magazines, 3 cell phones, 2 anti-personnel mines, a laptop computer, 2 communications radios, 4 vests and cartridges of different calibers. It is known that alias James or El Loco would have illegal operations in the hamlets Versalles, Miramontes, Campo 5, Campo 6, Guasimales, Campo Yuca Orú, Beltrania,
The Socaró, The Bocatoma and the urban area of the municipality of Tibú. The material found and the individual were put into custody of the authorities to continue with the prosecution procedure.
