This woman would have participated in attacks against the Military Forces, and would have been the right hand of one of the ringleaders of the armed group.
In military operations within the framework of the Plan Bicentenario Héroes de la Libertad (Bicentenary Plan Heroes Of Freedom), the Colombian National Army dealt one of the most important blows so far this year, in the southwest of Colombia: the capture of a woman, alleged member of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Carlos Patiño.
Soldiers of the National Army, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), arrived at the municipality of Ipiales to carry out the capture of alias Andrea or La Veneca, who would be the Logistics Coordinator of this outlaw armed group.
Alias Andrea would have carried out her criminal activity in the municipalities of El Patía and Algeria, in the department of Cauca, where she would have been coordinating extortions to civilians.
This woman apparently would have been in the armed group for more than three years and would have been in charge of the financial and logistical operations of an urban drug trafficking group, in the city of Popayan. She would have made the purchase of explosives and weapons and also would have transported large amounts of money to the settlement areas of this group.
With this important result, the intelligence and logistical sources of this armed group –which destabilize the peace of the department of Nariño– were weakened.
