The Colombian Air Force ratified before 14 countries of the American continent its commitment to lead the exercise of humanitarian aid, disaster relief and major scale emergencies 'Cooperation VII and Angel of the Andes III' to be held in Colombia in 2020. This activity was carried out during the "Committee XXXII" of the Cooperation System of the American Air Forces (SICOFAA), held in Brasilia.
In this important meeting, bilateral issues were discussed with the participating countries and progress was reviewed in compliance with activities conducted by the Air Force Commanders with the intention of executing new operations in the short and medium term.
The Colombian delegation in the same way participated in the planning of the Virtual Exercise 'Cooperation VI' that will take place in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, in April 2019, where the operations to be executed in Colombia will be simulated.
Exercise 'Cooperation VII', which will be conducted simultaneously with the 'Angel of the Andes III' Exercise, will have the participation of personnel, aircrafts, resources and distinctive capabilities of more than 20 Air Forces and equivalent services from different countries of the world.
In the same way, the special capabilities of the United States of America for the region in the event of an emergency situation were known, as well as those of the Brazilian Air Force in matters of firefighting with the MAFF-I system, satellites, Command and Control for the defense and security of the air space of that country.
