Due to the situation that occurred in the Wounaan indigenous community of Buena Vista, in the department of Chocó, the Colombian Air Force, along with Iván Darío González, Minister of Health in charge, and a group of the Government, arrived in the zone with the objective of providing assistance to this population.
The above, because five minors died between December and January, due to acute respiratory diseases, fever and diarrhea. Taking into account the denunciations by the inhabitants, the State arrived in the area of Bajo Baudó, where more than 300 people were checked by the Ministry and the National Institute of Health (INS).
In the same way, in two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters of the Air Combat Command No.5, two indigenous children were taken to Quibdó to be treated at a specialized medical center. since they had several symptoms of bad respiratory conditions.
