On instructions of the National Government, through the Ungrd, the Colombian Air Force ordered two UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft, including the presidential helicopter, to transport tons of food and humanitarian aid to the Department of Chocó, in support of the people in the frame of the rain emergency in recent days.
One of these aircraft in Angel configuration will provide the search and Rescue Service, carrying out the transportation of specialized emergency groups, evacuation of personnel where required with their distinctive resources such as the rescue crane, stretcher, among others.
Simultaneously, the presidential helicopter will be transporting humanitarian aid from different Colombian cities from Quibdó, to different municipalities in the Department of Department of Chocó that have been seriously damaged by the wave of rains that hits the country, including El Carmen de Atrato y Lloró.
The air institution is always ready and prepared to reach the most remote places, providing the necessary support to those who require the deployment of their ‘metal Angels’ to save lives.
