From Air Combat Command No.5 more than four tons of humanitarian aid were transported to the island of San Andrés, where they were received by the military personnel of the Teniente Coronel Benjamín Méndez Rey Air Base, who supported the logistical deployment for the unloading and maintenance of the aircraft.
Such humanitarian aid consists of non-perishable food, biosecurity items, kitchen items, clothing, footwear and medicines, which will make it possible to cover the needs of the inhabitants harmed by the transit of Hurricane Iota on the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina.
The Colombian Air Force has coordinately worked with non-profit organizations supported by the air transport, deployment, logistics, and military personnel for the dispatch and receipt of aid; Sandra Hincapíe, leader of the campaign for Comprehensive reconstitution of the Archipelago says : “we highlight the support that the Colombian Air Force he has given us, because thanks to this work we have succeeded in carrying around 50 humanitarian aid, that have distributed to the people who need it most”.
