Through sustained operations in the department of Nariño Pacific region, the Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the National Police, carried out an operation against drug trafficking, leading to the arrest of six members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, in a rural area of the municipality of Roberto Payán, Nariño.
Among those arrested, there is the so called Señor de las Olas (Lord of the Waves) or the Lord of the Pacific allegedly in charge of controlling the production and marketing of up to 10 tons per month of cocaine hydrochloride to Central America and the United States, the largest production capacity in the department.
During inspection work in the Chimbuza Lagoon area, weapons of different calibers, ammunition and abundant detonating cord for the manufacture of explosives were in the same way found.
Alias Señor del Pacífico was wanted by the authorities since 2019 by a Florida court in the United States, after assuming the place of his brother alias Doctor, former head of one of the structures of the residual GAO in Nariño, arrested by the authorities that same year.
