23 tons of humanitarian aid arrived on the island of San Andrés aboard two aircraft of the Military Air Transport Command, after the emergency in recent days in the Archipelago.
Responding to the call of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit, the cargo made of toilet kits, boxes with non-perishable food and night kits consisting of blankets, sheets and mats were transferred to be distributed to the heavily hit houses.
After the arrival of the C-40 and C-130 aircraft in the island, the military personnel of the Caribbean Air Group, the National Army and UNGRD workers received the cargo and transported it to the place of distribution; according to the National Disaster Risk Management Unit, more than 500 families were hit in different sectors of the island.
