The control of the fire at the Fatima village of the municipality of La Ceja, Antioquia, was assisted by a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter with Bambi Bucket equipment, dropping 1,000 gallons of water mixed with retardant liquid, to protect the vegetation.
The aircraft, belonging to the Air Combat Command No. 5 of the Colombian Aerospace Force, took off as soon as it received the request from the Administrative Department for Disaster Risk Management of Antioquia - DAGRAN and along with the National Personnel Recovery Center - CENRP-, coordinated efforts to put out the conflagration.
The coordinated efforts conducted by the different institutions and the permanent work of the crew in charge of the mission led to mitigate the spread of the flames, thus protecting the natural resources in this area of the department of Antioquia.
