In response to the emergency generated by the heavy rains in the department of Choc贸, the Colombian Aerospace Force deployed two C-295 type aircraft of the Military Transport Air Command - CATAM to transport 8.5 tons of humanitarian aid provided by the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD; this aid will be distributed to the communities hit by the rainy season in the region.
In coordination with the National Center for Personnel Recovery - CENRP, the aid provided by the UNGRD will be distributed to the Red Cross in El Quibd贸, capital of the department of Choc贸, to later be distributed to the inhabitants who have been victims of the heavy rains.
The two aircraft took off in the morning of the CATAM ramp with the humanitarian aid which included more than 900 hygiene kits, food and kitchen implements, sheets, hammocks and awnings; all this bound for the El Cara帽o Airport in the department of Choc贸.
In this way, the Colombian Aerospace Force will continue to be on alert to provide support in emergency calls that arise throughout the national territory.
