Coordinated efforts with the authorities and institutions on the ground remain essential for these missions.
At first the Colombian Aerospace Force resumed firefighting work in the eastern hills of Bogotá, after having paused it at night due to the lack of visibility of the lines between the electrical towers, which pose a risk to the safety of the operation; for this reason, since very early it has resumed missions with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the Air Combat Command No.2, which yesterday conducted the 11 water drops of 4,752 gallons of water and 10 gallons of retardant liquid.
So far this day, 10 water drops have been made, with a total of 3,400 gallons of water, 5 gallons of retardant liquid, which together with the helicopter of the Official Fire Department of Bogotá, and a helicopter of the National Police, are leading the work to contain the flames in this area, with the surface support of the Army and brigadier personnel.
In the National Personnel Recovery Center, the Military Transport Air Command, the National Risk Management Unit, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá and the other institutions involved in the assistance of this emergency, will continue carrying out extinguishing tasks in the hope of mitigating the fire as soon as possible.
