Responding to the call of the National Personnel Recovery Center, the helicopter crews of the N.6 Air Combat Command, CACOM-6, of the Colombian Aerospace Force quickly and timely carried out an aeromedical evacuation of a minor and his father who were hit by an explosive device.
In the rural area of Yurilla, Puerto Leguízamo, Putumayo, a 13-year-old minor and his father become victims of an anti-personnel mine, when they were walking home, the minor who lost part of his right leg, and his father, were evacuated by rescuers from this Unit.
During the flight the medical staff provided primary medical care, working to maintain the vital signs of the minor, who was the most beaten, finally the patients were taken to the municipality of Florencia, where they were sent to the María Inmaculada Departmental Hospital.
The Colombian Aerospace Force will continue to work day and night in order to serve those who require it.
