At the end of a security meeting in the municipality of Llorente, the minister of Defence, Diego Molano, along with the Commanders of the Military and Police forces, announced four key operations to support the safety of Tumaco and in the rural area of the municipality, where a frontal struggle against armed groups such as the dissidents of the Farc, who have generated these mass killings during the year.
The Minister announced that a reward of up to 200 million pesos is offered for information to capture alias Javier, the ringleader of the Urías Rondón of the dissidents of the Farc that with its confrontation with the group of Los Contadores and the Oliver Sinisterra make this area a very complex place.
He said that all the operations of the Military Forces are focused on dismantling these three criminal structures that strike the tranquility of the area.
He in the same way said that operations by the Military Forces, where this type of violence is taking place, will intensify.
"We have to contain the collective homicides that have been carried out, especially along the road from La Guayacana to Llorente and in el Gualtal; that is why we are going to carry out joint operations of our Army and Police, especially on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, where these events are happening," Molano said.
He in the same way announced that the fight will be decisive and frontal against all those involved in this drug trafficking chain, "especially against the laboratories and seedbeds that generate that income for terrorist and criminal operations," the Minister said.
The head of the ministry of Defense said that the work of the Military Forces in the department of Nariño, specifically in the Telembí Triangle to guarantee security in those sectors, is permanent.
Finally, Minister Molano highlighted the operation of the Nariño Police and he has said that they have been heroes for the Homeland, "here in Nariño, one of the departments with the most challenges in security, you play a vital role in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal mining," he highlighted.
After the meeting, Minister Molano and the military commanders walked through the streets of Llorente and talked with the community.
