The Colombian Navy, in the framework of a joint operation with the National Army and coordinated with the National Police, arrested four alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group Bloque Occidental Alfonso Cano, in the department of Nariño.
After 15 days of investigation and follow-up, troops of the Unified action Group for Personal Freedom - Military GAULA - Tumaco with the support of the units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, arrived at a house in the Avenida de los Estudiantes neighborhood in the municipality of Tumaco, where through the decisive deployment of their land and maritime resources, they reported finding four individuals, apparently in charge of firearms trafficking, narcotics trafficking and criminal activities related to extortion against the community.
The operation began in the early hours of the morning with the road closure of the area and containment maneuvers in the coastal area, this, in order to prevent a possible escape attempt by the suspects. Once they found the place where the individuals were, troops carried out the search, arresting two men and two women, who were in possession of war materiel, military accessories and communications.
At the time of the arrest, two rifles, a revolver, a pistol, a shotgun, seven rifle magazines, one pistol magazine, 537 cartridges of different calibers, two communications equipment and a camouflage uniform to be exclusively used by the Military Forces were found by troops.
The war material, communications and military accessories together with the arrested individuals were put into custody of the Tumaco–Nariño 27th section Prosecutor's Office, for the alleged crimes of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons, restricted-use ammunition, of exclusive use of Military Forces or explosives and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. The authorities granted a release ticket to the two women.
