They are four women and 26 men of Chinese nationality.
One nautical mile from Cabo Tiburón in the department of Chocó, Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy safeguarded the lives of 30 Asian migrants, including four women, who were traveling in an unauthorized boat with the intention of crossing the border with Panama.
The event occurred within the framework of maritime patrol and control operations, thanks to the timely deployment of a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Coast Guard Station of Urabá, which managed to detect a suspicious ship sailing through the waters of the Gulf of Urabá.
When carrying out the maritime interception, it was found that the boat was manned by three Colombians who were illegally transporting the 30 people of Chinese nationality, in violation of current maritime regulations.
The ship was not authorized and did not have the minimum security conditions to go to sea, so it was towed by members of the Military Forces to the dock of the Urabá Coast Guard Station in Turbo - Antioquia.
In safe port, the health status of the rescued foreigners was verified, who were subsequently put into custody of Migración Colombia, while the three individuals who were driving the boat were arrested and put into custody of the Colombian authorities.
