The alleged criminals would be responsible for the collection of money extorted from people, distribution of hallucinogenic substances and selective homicides.
In the execution of the Diamante II Plan, during a military operation conducted by troops of the Artillery Battalion of Campaign No. 2 of the Fifth Brigade of the Second Division, in conjunction with the National Navy and coordinated with the National Police - SIJIN, it was possible in Puerto Wilches, in the department of Santander, the capture of three members of “Los Carburadores”, a group at the service of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
These individuals committed crimes mainly in the municipalities of Cantagallo, Simití, Santa Rosa and San Pablo, south of the department of Bolívar and in Puerto Wilches, in the department of Santander. They were put into custody of the local Public Prosecutor's Office No. 11 in Puerto Wilches. At the time of their capture troops seized a nine millimeter pistol, two magazines and a cartridge for that arm, 111 cartridges caliber 5.56 millimeters and four radios.
Criminal profile
Among those captured there is alias 'El Mocho', 36, leader of the “Los Carburadores” group, charged with collecting extortions from merchants, small shopkeepers and moneylenders in the region, according to the instructions he received from the leaders of the Clan del Golfo; in the same way, he was responsible for the distribution of hallucinogens, theft and murders.
Alias 'Negro', was in charge of coordinating land movements during the collection of money from extortions. At the same time he planned and carried out homicides in this sector. This individual, 27, participated in an attack against a member of the National Police in El Palmar neighborhood of Puerto Wilches, last February.
On the other hand, alias 'Mincho', 36, was the one who coordinated and planned the distribution of psychoactive substances and execute selective homicides.
