In two joint and coordinated operations against drug trafficking, the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, found 2529 kilograms of marijuana in rural areas of the departments of Cauca and Choc贸.
In the first operation carried out in the department of Cauca, the Military Forces found inside an abandoned house, in the Brazo el Coco sector, a rural area of the L贸pez de Micay municipality, 64 sacks containing 1,860 rectangular packages, with color and odor characteristics similar to marijuana.
On the other hand, troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.23 while conducting a search and area control, at the mouth of the Chado River, in the municipality of Bah铆a Solano - department of Choc贸, they found 27 sacks of irregular size, containing inside 637 rectangular packages with characteristics similar to marijuana.
The material was transported to facilities of the Colombian Navy, where personnel of the Judicial and Criminal Investigation Section - SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) of the National Police carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, which left a positive result for 1,932 kilograms and 597 kilograms of marijuana, respectively. No arrests were made during the operations.
With this finding, the finances of the criminal groups and drug trafficking in the Pacific region are hit, who stop receiving more than 16 million dollars.
