Through military operations aimed at the conservation of the country's biological diversity, it has contributed to the conservation of endemic and endangered specimens that inhabit the forests of the national territory.
Colombia hosts 10% of the world's biodiversity, becoming the home of unique flora and fauna specimens on earth, which contribute to the report and conservation of nature; that is why Colombian National Army, in compliance with the Campaign Plan of the Ayacucho Military Operation 2023-2026 and its work lines LOE Amazon铆a and LOO Mutis, has cooperated in the conservation and recovery of a variety of seedlings and animals of great importance for the planet.
This is how the soldiers lead in different areas of the country and have carried out the rescue of 1605 specimens of wild and Navy fauna, many of these in the way of extension, such as the white-headed marmoset monkey, the Amazonian tapir, the Caribbean manatee and the hawksbill turtle, essential in the conservation of the natural chains of biological systems.
In the same way, it was possible to recover 830 units of flora, including the Cattleya trianae orchid, the wax palm, the frailej贸n, the cedars and the abarco, which are threatened by deforestation, the illicit extraction of wood and climate change.
The recovery of these fauna and flora specimens took place 35% in the Pacific region, 35% in the Caribbean, and 21% in the Andean region, which has led to contribute to the report of the nation's biodiversity, the conservation of the p谩ramos and the protection of soils against erosion.
In the same way, the institution contributed to the repair of the green layer of the country by planting 2,909,117 units of seedlings, which contributed to the reforestation of 2247 hectares of tropical forest. In the same way, the planting of 7600 frailejones and 200 wax palm plants was carried out.
