24 Colombian citizens who were in emergency at sea due to the overturning of the boat in which they were transported near Playa Blanca, Santa Marta (Magdalena), were rescued by a Colombian Navy unit.
The facts were reported through the emergency call received by the Maritime Traffic Control Station of Santa Marta by the community, who reported that the boat named Saily Lorena with 24 people on board had overturned, for reasons that are subject of investigations by the maritime authority through the Port of Santa Marta Authority.
Immediately, a rapid reaction unit of the Primary Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta was deployed to the scene of the events, achieving the rescue of the 24 Colombian tourists, when some were at the sea and others were already aboard boats that made transit through the area and supported the rescue. The rescued were transported to the sector El Rodadero Norte, along with the towed boat.
At the pier, it was necessary to transfer an adult by the fire men of Santa Marta to a medical center to receive specialized medical assistance.
