Within the framework of the Perseo Plan, the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules, during fighting against the residual Organized Armed Group, Urías Rondón Structure, in the village of La Guayacana rural area of Tumaco, Nariño, nine individuals were arrested, and a minor was recovered; abundant war material was found.
In the military operation, soldiers of the Jungle Battalion No.53, who were carrying out control of nodal points, working for the security in the area, engaged a combat against members of that gang. Alias ochomil and alias Madeo, alleged ringleaders of the support networks for the residual structures, according to military intelligence, would be responsible for attacking civilians and the Military Forces, and also for illegal posts, murders, kidnappings and extortion of personnel moving along the road that lead to Tumaco and Pasto.
In the second operation in the municipality of El Charco Nariño, units of the Pegaso Operational Command and the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, engaged in combat against members of the residual Organized Armed Group, Western Bloc Alfonso Cano, in order to arrest alias Titi in flagrante delicto. This guy was the one who allegedly sowed terror in that area. Along with him, 12 other individuals were in the same way arrested, one of them was wounded during the combat, but thanks to the immediate reaction of the military nurses, first aid was provided to him, while he moved to the Tumaco district, where a medical team was waiting for him.
It was in the same way possible to recover five minors, who were put into custody of the Childhood and Adolescence Police.
During the operations, eight rifles, a shotgun, three submachineguns, 5 pistols, two revolvers, two hand grenades, ammunition, communication equipment and clothing for the exclusive use of the Military Forces were found by troops.
