The plantation processes were carried out in 33% in the Amazon region, 45% in the Andean region, 5% in the Caribbean, 7.1% in the Orinoquia region, and 7.4% in the Pacific region: 1303 hectares were recovered.
Within the framework of the Campaign Plan of the military operation Ayacucho 2023-2026, and its lines of work LOE Amazonia and the military operation LOO Mutis, focused on contributing to the protection of the environment and ecosystems of the country, Colombian National Army, through its military units, has carried out strategies of agricultural use in the germination and planting of trees contributing to the recovery of 1,303 hectares of rainforest in Colombia.
This is how the soldiers who serve the military environmental service, in coordination with the regional autonomous corporations, carried out the planting of 1,892,518 seedlings of the Guayac谩n, Ceiba, Mahogany and Oak specimens, among others, in the national territory, being 15% segmented in Putumayo, 14.4% in Caquet谩 and 5% in Meta, departments largely hit by deforestation.
These specimens have contributed to restoring the rainforest areas and tropical forests of the country, hit by the ecocide caused by illegal armed groups with the indiscriminate logging, illegal mining, construction of constructions and drug trafficking problem, where the soils are used for illicit plantations.
In the same way, the planting of frailejones in the 37 paramos of Colombia was strengthened, with the planting of 6,250 units of this plant, essential in the conservation of biodiversity and the production of natural water reservoirs that supply the cities of the country. This operation has been carried out by the soldiers of the High Mountain Battalions.
