In the alma mater of the Navy Infantry in Coveñas, in the department of Sucre, 1,593 infantry men swore to 'God and the homeland' to defend national sovereignty and provide security to Colombians from different regions of the country, where their effort and courage will be guarantors of the great commitment of the National Navy to the protection of the maritime borders and the areas of responsibility.
The ceremony was presided by the commander of the Navy Infantry, general brigadier Ricardo Humberto Perico Pinto accompanied by the commander of the Training Base of navy infantry brigadier General Ricardo Ernesto Vargas Cuéllar and the commanders of the tactical units, who accompanied on this emotional day of our sworn navy infantry men and their proud families.
On this occasion there was a special parade with the representative uniforms of the history of the Colombian Navy Infantry.
