Pilots of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) receive physiological training in the hypobaric chamber of the Directorate of Aerospace Medicine (DIMAE) of the Colombian Air Force.
This delegation is made up of 15 FAP pilots, who for a week will be in the Military Transport Air Command-CATAM to receive a training program from DIMAE, which strengthens physiological conditions and improves flight safety.
This training is carried out through the use of an altitude tent that helps to provide pilots the same conditions of low atmospheric pressure and low levels of oxygen (hypoxia) that occur on flights in non-pressurized aircraft or in cabin depressurization events .
The delegation is made up of pilots of combat, training and transport aircraft, which, thanks to the cooperation agreements conducted by the two countries, access to this training exchange in the field of aerospace medicine, which has health professionals With extensive education and experience, as well as cutting-edge technology and high quality indices, as required by international standards.
Thus, the Directorate of Aerospace Medicine conducts education and instruction in aviation medicine, becoming the best training center in space health in the country.
