The Colombian Navy, within the framework of comprehensive maritime control and security operations, intercepted a semi-submarine carrying 795 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride in the waters of the central Pacific.
The illegal craft detected by the Colombian Navy units in the area was found when it was sailing, apparently, bound for Central America. During the inspection, it was established that it was manned by three individuals, who were taken together with the 15-meter-long semi-submarine, to the District of Buenaventura in the department of Valle del Cauca.
In the most important port of the Pacific, the device, the illegal merchandise and the individuals were put into custody of the authorities. Once the different compartments were opened, several packages were extracted on which the personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, determining that it was 795 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this finding, the entry of about 27 million dollars to drug trafficking organizations, product of their sale on the international illegal market, was prevented, as well as the distribution of approximately two million doses on the streets of the world.
