Given the heavy rains that have occurred in recent days, the Medellín River overflowed causing an emergency that hit different sites in the municipality of Copacabana in Antioquia.
Due to the difficult situation of the families of Copacabana, who lost their belongings due to the floods, our Multi mission Heroes of the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development with its Comprehensive Action Battalion No. 7 and the soldiers of The Seventh Division, with its Engineers Battalion Pedro Nel Ospina, moved to the most hit sectors to attend the emergency and accompany the more than 197 families and help clean their homes and remove debris.
This emergency took place in the neighborhoods La Pradera, La Asunción and Guadalajara, which were the most hit by the floods, thanks to the Unified Operation of the State and the union of efforts of the Civil Defense, the Fire Department, the National Police, the City of Copacabana and the National Army.
"We lost everything, we all collaborated. Thanks to the National Army for bringing us its support, for helping us to clean our houses and thanks to the other institutions that accompany us," said Nancy Uribe.
Because the Risk Management authorities predict that heavy rains will continue throughout the department of Antioquia, the National Army will continue to work at the service of the communities hit by the emergency of rains. We are Integration, Vocation and Development.
