San Andres Island. In recent hours, the National Navy evacuated a crew member of the Colombian ship "Caroline", who was fishing in the area of Cayo Serrana Island.
The Naval Checkpoint No. 24 on Cayo Serrana Island received an emergency call of the motor ship, warning that one of its crew members had suffered a serious injury in one of his legs, so they immediately informed the Coastguard Station of Providencia, that immediately sends a Unit of Fast Reaction to contact with the boat to evacuate the fisherman and take him to the hospital of Providencia.
So far in 2018, the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia has carried out five evacuations, reaffirming its commitment to the island's population to ensure its well-being and health in the seas.
