Antioquia. In recent hours, the National Navy in two Maritime Interdiction operations, safeguarded the lives of 36 foreigners who sailed in the sectors of "La Playa" and "Río Turbo", in the area of Turbo, in the department of Antioquia.
The two ships navigated without navigation lights and at unauthorized hours with 36 migrants from Bangladesh, Cameroon, Cuba, Guinea and India, violating all security measures at the sea and endangering the lives of all these people.
The group of 36 foreigners was transported to the facilities of the Urabá Coastguard Station where they received medical assistance to be subsequently put into custody of Migración Colombia.
The three Colombian individuals and one from Panama were put into custody of the authority. They must face charges of alleged crime of migrant trafficking.
So far this year, the Urabá Coastguard Station has carried out 10 operations against the illegal trafficking of migrants, safeguarding the lives of 228 foreigners in the Gulf of Urabá.
