Valle del Cauca. The Ministry of National Education, with resolution number 3976 of March 9, 2018, granted the program of Computer Engineering of the Military School of Aviation "Marco Fidel Suárez" of the Colombian Air Force, the accreditation of High Quality with validity for four years.
The accreditation of high quality is the act by which the State adopts and publishes the recognition that academic peers make of the verification made by an institution on the quality of its academic programs, its organization, functioning and the fulfillment of its social function, becoming an instrument for the improvement of the quality of professional and technical education.
The National Council of Accreditation CNA issued a favorable opinion, recommending the granting of high quality accreditation, taking into account the progress made by the program since it began its self-assessment process in 2015, related to the academic training of students and professors, the promotion of the seedbeds of research and artistic creation, the impact of their graduates in the field, their national and international visibility and its administrative organization, physical resources and institutional conditions.
After its official visit in June 2017, the CNA highlighted the differential emphasis of the program focused on the forensic computing processes, unique in the Valle del Cauca, and the georeferenced information systems and cybersecurity. In the same way, the increase in academic mobility that led students to analyze different academic experiences of other university Institutions.
Similarly, the national and international visibility of the Military School of Aviation, through its Computer Engineering program, has strengthened its applied training research processes, optimizing the technological and budgetary resources which ultimately are at the service of the Air Force.
