Meta. The troops of the Joint Task Force Omega have supported the work of evacuation and rescue of the inhabitants of Puerto Nariño, a rural area of the department of Meta, who were hit by the floods after the overflow of the river Duda.
The heavy rains in this region of the southwest of Colombia, have generated the growing and the overflow of the river Duda that swept away everything that found on its way.
The troops of the Battalion of Rapid Deployment N°1 deployed in this area acted immediately to initiate the evacuation efforts, helping the people and animals in imminent risk.
The more than 40 families were evacuated by the multi mission heroes, are currently in a safe place while the river return to its normal levels.
