On board the multi-purpose vessel ARC “Caribe” a meeting of the Maritime Directorate-General and Colciencias took place.
Bolivar. With the objective of continue to promote the development of scientific research in Colombia, the Director General Maritime, vice-admiral Mario German Rodriguez Viera, and the Director of Colciencias, Alejandro Olaya, held a strategy meeting on board the multi-purpose vessel ARC “Caribe”.
During this meeting, the representatives of the institutions agreed to continue working on science projects that target the consolidation of Colombia as a maritime reference country, including knowledge generation, maritime safety, protection of resources and national sovereignty.
Forging these alliances is part of the institutional strategy of the Maritime Authority of Colombia to contribute to the maritime interests of the country, taking as a guide the objectives of sustainable development.
The visit was complemented with a tour by the hydrographic ships ARC “Caribbean” and ARC “Roncador”, the research platforms recently acquired by the Colombian Government at the service of the Maritime Directorate-General.
