Bolivar. In a military operation of territorial control, troops of the Jungle Battalion No. 48 of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division, in coordination with the National Police, discovered an illegal hideout in the municipality of Caracolí, in the municipality of Simití, south of the department of Bolívar, which belonged to the 'Luis José Solano Sepúlveda' Front of the Eln, which commits crimes in this region of the country.
The hideout was hidden in a wooded area and contained 108 units of indugel, 25 kilograms of Anfo explosive, 140 electric detonators, 160 meters of security fuses and 62 nonelectric detonators prepared with safety fuse of 100 centimeters each.
This material was destroyed under controlled conditions by soldiers of the Caldas Battalion, operationally added to the Jungle Battalion No. 48, without causing damage to the environment and safeguarding the life of the troops and the civilian population.
With this action an important blow is dealt to the finances and armed part of this group, weakening its operations and preventing terrorist action against the community and the Military Forces. At the same time, security in the sector is guaranteed since this material was a danger to the community.
