United States. The Sixth Division of the National Army in order to implement strategies that promote rapprochement with international organizations to coordinate efforts to attack on criminality and anthropic threats, presented the operations carried out in the Bubble against Deforestation in the Colombian Amazonas region, in the Technological Institute of Massachusetts in the United States.
The presentation showed the work conducted in the south of the country by all the authorities and the territorial institutions in charge of enforcing the Colombian environmental legislation. It is led by the National Army in the framework of the program 'Faith in Colombia' and the initiative of regional identity 'Pasión Amazonas', 'Pasión Caquetá' and 'Pasión Putumayo'. This event took place by the invitation of the Environmental Solution Initiative programs of the private university in an activity called Collaboration in Environmental Sustainability.
During the meeting with the academics, the initiatives of the Colombian Air Force, the Military Engineers Command and the Support Command of Comprehensive operation and Development of the National Army to prevent deforestation and restore degraded ecosystems were seen.
In the same way, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented the projects that could be supported and implemented in order to fulfill the commitments made during the Climate Change Summit in Paris in 2015, which seeks to preserve forests, the design of biometric environmental robots, sensor systems and data analysis, solar energy and autonomous systems and use of unmanned aircraft for monitoring the jungle.
The objective of this meeting is directed to work with this university to contribute to strengthen the capacities of the Environmental Bubble, activated in December 2016 in Caquetá and replicated in several departments of the country.
