Two members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, were neutralized in the operation.
In military operations, the National Army neutralized two members of this GAO-r (Residual Organized Armed Group), who would be responsible for the murder of a social leader and extortions in several municipalities in southern Cauca and Caquetá.
Troops of the Sixth Division, through the Twenty Seventh Jungle Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police and the Colombian Air Force, carried out the Operation Atila, framed in the Campaign Plan “Victoria Plus”, aimed at guaranteeing institutional control of the territory, managed to neutralize in combat two members of the Residual Organized Armed Group 62, GAO-r, that last July 29, according to the information, murdered the social leader Raúl Buitrago Perdomo, president of the Communitarian action Board of the hamlet of La Fraguita, in the department of Caquetá. Mr. Buitrago Perdomo, in the same way, was in charge of environmental issues.
In the same way, this GAO-r, would be responsible for the graffiti with the acronym Farc-EP that appeared in several villages in the area whose intention is to frighten the civilian population.
This group would be also involved in extortions against the inhabitants of this Cauca’s region and intimidation through threatening pamphlets.
This result occurred in the village La Libertad, in southern Cauca, thanks to information from Military Intelligence that led operations conducted by soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No. 25 'General Domingo Rico', who in the same way found weapons and ammunition
