In the framework of the permanent operation of the National Navy against drug trafficking, in the departments of Chocó and Antioquia, it was possible to find 5,000 gallons of illegal fuel that were transported on board metal boats.
The fluvial control operations carried out by the Infantry Battalion No.16 on the Atrato River and its tributaries left the finding of 5,000 gallons of DIESEL. This fuel were in 18 plastic quadrants, aboard two ships, that, at the time of the search, did not have the documentation required for the transportation of this type of material, so it is presumed that it would be used by outlaw groups for unlawful exploitation of mining deposits.
During the operations, no captures were reported. The material was put into custody of the Police Inspector of the municipality of Beté (Department of Chocó)
