In the framework of the Military and Police Operation 'Esparta' and in the frame of the operations maintained by the troops of the Thirtieth Brigade of the National Army, in Norte de Santander, alias' Chueco ', logistical leader of the Organized Armed Group 'Los Pelusos', was captured. He would be the right hand of alias 'Pepe', leader in this GAO (Organized Armed group).
Alias 'Chueco', who had been in the organization for eight years, according to information received, would have worked as a militiaman, ringleader of commission and logistics head of this GAO. He was captured in the urban area of Cúcuta, in an operation carried out by the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom, Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Norte de Santander, in coordination with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol component of the National Police.
The operation, based on military intelligence work, led the authorities to identify the whereabouts of the individual, where through the search procedure, the arrest warrants for the crime of conspiracy to commit a crime and rebellion became effective.
Alias 'Chueco' is accused of the double homicide committed in 2017, in the municipality of Las Mercedes, Sardinata. In the same way, he would be the person in charge of the attack to the Police station of this municipality, causing the death of one of the police officers.
As logistical leader, he would be the one in charge of promoting, through intimidation, protests of the communities against the eradication of illicit plantations, he coordinated the procurement of war material and participated in terrorist operations against the civilian population.
The individual was presented at a public hearing for legalization of capture and put into prison.
This blow to the group 'Los Pelusos' markedly decreases its criminal and logistical operations in the urban area of Norte de Santander and rise to 12 the number of captures of members of this organized armed group in 2018 in this area of the country.
